CAHME’s Presence at the 2017 ACHE Congress

stanowskianthonyStarting Sunday, March 26, 2017, more than 4,000 executives from around the globe will attend the ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership.  ACHE is one of the founding members of CAHME, and has been a stalwart supporter of high quality graduate healthcare management education across our nearly 50 year history. Personally, ACHE has done much to help me during my career, and if you look carefully, you can see in my picture that I proudly wear my ACHE lapel pin! CAHME will be at many ACHE events and speaking engagements.

CAHME Accreditation Bootcamp | Register
This all-day educational session prepares programs for the accreditation process. It provides tools, technical instructions and hands-on practice on competency-based education. With approximately 40 people registered, only a few seats remain before we reach room capacity.  Register soon.

CAHME Awards Luncheon | Register
The second annual award celebration honors four CAHME programs that foster innovation and excellence in teaching to advance the quality of healthcare management education.  To date, 150 people are scheduled to attend this celebration of academic excellence and leadership development.  Only a few seats remain.

I serve as Chair of the Board Quality Committee at Bon Secours Baltimore Health System.  Working with Shelly Buck the COO/Chief Nurse Executive, Bon Secours Baltimore Health System, we will review the way that the board and management worked to improve the patient experience for that facility in West Baltimore.  To date, 55 people have signed up for these sessions.

Establishing and Maintaining Leadership Excellence by Embracing Continuing Professional Development
Session 82X: Wednesday, March 29th, 8:45-10:15 AM
CAHME’s Director of Business Development, Neel Pathak will speak with CAHME Board Member and HIMSS Vice President of Professional Development, JoAnn Klinedinst.  This session will help attendees create a career plan for professional development.  There will be a focus on identifying the key components for career success.  To date, 132 people have signed up for this session.

Applications for the CAHME Awards Program Deadline November 25, 2016

stanowskianthonyThe CAHME Awards Program recognizes programs that advance the quality of graduate healthcare management education.  In 2017, there are 4 awards:
CAHME / Cerner Award for Excellence in Healthcare Management Systems Education
CAHME / Ascension Award for Excellence in Healthcare Leadership Development
CAHME / Baylor Scott & White Health Award for Excellence in Quality Improvement Education
CAHME / Canon Solutions America Award for Sustainability in Healthcare Management Education and Practice

Each award includes:

  • Up to $5,000 for funding of relevant initiatives as described in the award application document.  For example, the CAHME/Canon Award for Sustainability includes a $5,000 grant for a faculty member doing research in sustainability in healthcare.
  • Recognition of award recipient programs in a full page ad in Modern Healthcare
  • Presentation of the award at the CAHME Awards Ceremony during the 2017 ACHE Congress
  • One night hotel accommodation and round trip coach airfare to Chicago for the Award Ceremony for one Program representative.

Only CAHME Accredited programs can apply for this recognition.  Applications are available at www.cahme.org.

CAHME Awards Luncheon Highlights Exceptional Accredited Programs

 

The inaugural CAHME Awards Luncheon was held in conjunction with ACHE’s annual Congress on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.  The event recognized two of CAHME’s exceptional programs:

  • Xavier University received the CAHME – Ascension Award for Excellence in Healthcare Leadership Development (photo 1)
  • University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill received the CAHME – Cerner Award for Excellence in Healthcare Management Systems Education (photo 2).
