Resolve to Attend the CAHME Boot Camp

Anthony Stanowski, DHA, FACHE

Many of us enter a new year resolving to get into better shape—with varying degrees of success. I am happy to say, however, that you can easily get into better shape in understanding the CAHME accreditation process by attending an upcoming CAHME Boot Camp.

Our next Boot Camp is scheduled for March 2 – 3, 2019, coinciding with the ACHE Congress in Chicago. The sessions will be led by Kevin Broom, PhD, associate professor of Health Policy and Management at the University of Pittsburgh, and Dan Gentry, PhD, MHA, clinical professor and MHA program director at the University of Iowa College of Public Health. We have extended the Early Bird registration discount to January 11, 2019.

Boot Camp is divided into three sessions depending on your needs and where your program is in the accreditation process. Session 1 covers an introduction to CAHME and the basics of competency-based education, and is designed for attendees just getting started with CAHME accreditation. Session 2 offers intermediate level instruction and focuses on teaching and assessment tools. Session 3 is advanced and includes preparing for program self-assessment and a CAHME site visit.

Purchasing a ticket for any session includes entry to the Peregrine Academic Benchmarking Breakfast and the CAHME Awards Lunch, both to be held on March 3.

You can find more details about our upcoming Boot Camp and purchase tickets on our web site. Don’t miss this chance to learn more about the CAHME accreditation process and how your program can benefit. It will be one of the best new year’s resolutions you can make.
